Who we are

A passion for design

All of our cottages are joint creations. As a local architect  Richard is the driving force behind all the design and re-modelling of the properties….and undertakes much of the building work too. Helen, formerly a marketing professional in London, provides the interior flare (and a few headaches for Richard) and is always on the look out for new artists and designers who can contribute something to the properties. Commissions have ranged from a single glass tile to create a feature in a kitchen splashback to the fabrication of a bespoke chandelier. Both are passionate about the details, and therefore also clean, maintain and manage the properties to exemplary standards.

A love for The Lakes

Why The Wild Hart? Richard and Helen are based in Deepdale and where the wild red deer are frequently seen on the fell sides around. The Wild Hart captures both the romance of this wild Lakeland location plus the passion of the owners to create beautiful properties for guests to fall in love with. Both are keen fell walkers, have bagged all the “Wainwright’s” and are happy to help plan walking routes with you.

Every booking you make directly with us results in a donation to The Lake District Foundation, a conservation charity committed to caring for the natural environment of Cumbria.
